Gallery by the Harbour, Ocean Centre – Kwon Dae-Hun Solo Exhibition
A collection of 3-dimensional paintings and sculptures by Korean artist Kwon Dae-Hun that captures secular actions will be presented at Gallery by the Harbour. Deeply influenced by German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche, Kwon’s works explore the interrelation between abstract concepts – space and time, light and shadow with a penetrating insight in daily gestures. Each of his delicate sculptures casts a hand-drawn shadow that looks so vivid behind or below them, transfiguring mundane and often seemingly insignificant moments into an extraordinary experience. Feel free to walk around the sculptures to explore the dual relationship between illusion and reality from different perspectives!
Kwon Dae-Hun is currently a professor. He completed the Specialist Research Development Programme (SRDP) at the Slade School of Fine Art, University College London in 2005 after obtaining an MFA in Sculpture at the same school. During 2007-2012, Kwon held several solo and group exhibitions in the United Kingdom, France and Korea. He was also awarded The Jack Goldhill Award at the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition in 2011.
此外，權氏更於2011於Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition 2011獲得The Jack Goldhill Award。
